How Radar-Based Tracking Will Improve Navigation and Robotics in Orthopedic Surgery (video)

Computer-assisted navigation for surgery is not new. Watch the video of Co-Founder Peter Verrillo’s interview with John Greenwald and Dr. Morteza Meftah, founders of Caira Surgical to learn more.
Navigation systems in orthopedics have been helping surgeons visualize the right locations for bone cuts and implant placement for decades.
However, there are challenges with traditional navigation systems, including line-of-sight obstruction, increased invasiveness, and issues with optical tracking. Registering anatomic landmarks before each case can also add time to hip and knee cases.
To overcome these problems and more, Caira Surgical was founded to develop radar-based tracking for surgical navigation.
